The overarching theme in Chiang Mai is definitely shopping because of their incredible night market, which covers both sides of a major street with vendors for 20 blocks. Chiang Mai is a walking city with temples at every corner, museums galore, and the delights of the old city. It is also the adventure city of Thailand with everything from rock climbing to bungee jumping, paintball and white water rafting.

Gastronomic adventure is another way of exploring Thailand. It is culinary delight especially for seafood lovers. 'Phad Thai', which is the signature dish of Thailand and it is noodles fried with small tofu pieces, garlic, egg and either chicken or shrimp, with a sprinkling of peanuts and maybe a side of some lemon and chill-powder. Fresh fruits, like the local Dragon fruit, mangoes and ice creams are used for Thai desserts that are scrumptious.

Witnessing local festivals like The Loi Kathong Festival that take place at every full moon gives another dimension to the Thailand adventure travel vacation. The festival is celebrated to worship the water spirits and offerings of banana leaf bowls with flowers, fruit, candles and incense are floated on the water. The air is afloat with people holding gracefully floating lanterns while the water seems like a mirage with specks of light bobbing up and down.
